Hello & welcome! I’m Karen Ormiston – The Olive Oil Taster.

I’m Wales’ first Certified Olive Oil Sommelier, and I’m here to share my knowledge and endless curiosity about EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) with you.

There are, broadly, four ways I work to educate and enthuse and if you don’t fit one of the statements, contact me anyway and let’s see what we can do together.

  • Educational: colleges, hospitality students, chefs and others wanting 1/2 day, practical, hands-on tutored workshops
  • Collaborations: Supper Clubs, restaurants and event organisers looking for tutored tastings and food pairings – think wine tasting without the alcohol.
  • Talks and Tastings: to W.I.s, golf clubs, corporates and groups wanting an education but fun event (virtual or in-person) to learn more about and sample great Olive Oil
  • Tasters’ Club: A fun, no-obligation group of foodies who enjoy tutored tastings and the chance to ‘try and buy’ Not On the High Street oils. Membership includes regular meet-ups, tasting notes, a Guide to EVOO Tasting booklet and guest speakers all the chance to buy artisan oils with a story at great prices.

Explore the site to find out more, join me for some EVOO chat over on the blog, and get in touch if you’d like to work with me.
